Only the Religious Right Can Save Bush

By:  Sandra Price

Ann Coulter's Book "Godless" is now being sold on many Conservative sites for $4.95 which boasts a saving of $23! The message of the book is that Americans who doubt President Bush's actions must be labeled as Godless, liberal anti-Americans who must be stamped out! She is particularly offensive when it comes to the New Jersey wives of those men who lost their lives on 911. She is the personification of the new Republican Party of the Bush Administrations. HAIL TO THE CHIEF!

It has finally come down to this! There is no secret that the American people hold President G.W. Bush in low regard. There are so many reasons for this to be nearly impossible to list. His disregard for the truth in his decisions has caused a level of skepticism all though the Republican Party. The only firm support President Bush maintains comes from the Religious Right. Can this save his legacy?

How long does he expect the Clergy to carry his message to their congregations without reacting to the lies being told by the Administration? How long can the Clergy expect people like Limbaugh and Coulter to insult the intelligence of the American people in their blind support of the Bush talking heads? I say let them rant and the people listen!

Bush bought the voice of the Clergy when he promised Faith Based Federal Grants which in itself was the action of a Lobbyist to influence the federal government. He managed to buy millions of votes though the manipulation of the pulpits all over America. This was the first of many assaults on the Separation of Church and State. Okay, it worked! After 5 and a half years of living under the Bush Administration's agenda, will it continue to work? Will the American voters continue to support the Candidates being supported by the Bush Administration?

I'm picking up a dissention from the Christians themselves that it may not be working at all! We can all watch the speeches from the House and Senate and we can see for ourselves how our representatives will vote on many of the issues that will affect us and protect our freedoms. I've been questioning the decisions made from the White House since his first days in power. Have they been truthful or are they carrying a message that America must be confirmed legally as a Christian Nation and our laws changed accordingly?

I've been hearing over and over the majority of the Americans are Christians! Okay, but does this mean they are only ignorant sheep following the instructions from their Ministers and Priests? Does it mean that their time spent prior to our elections need not be concerned with exactly how their elected officials will vote? Does it help the voters to be inundated with coarse insults from the O'Reilly / Hannity / Limbaugh / Coulter reporters who add their own insults to the problem? Will the Religious Right bow down to these people when it comes time to electing our Congress and in 2008 a new leader for America? Will the voters simply go to church for their candidates?

Being a long time Republican I had a long list of political men and women that I listened to on a full time basis. For you older voters, one of these men "Dan Smoot" put out a report that spoke to the heart of the Republican Party. Wm. F. Buckley was another and he went so far to debate well known Liberals in many cities in America. He was awesome indeed. Many of us subscribed to the Christian Science Monitor for political opinions even though we were not members of any Christian Sect. There was a strong feeling that the Separation of Church and State was to be respected at all costs.

When did the Christian Coalition turn so mean and cruel? When did men like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson start telling us that God will destroy America if we don't stop our evil and sinful ways? I guess I need to know how powerful these threats to the American voter are. If the Religious Right has the legal authority to change our Constitution and put us under the guidance of Jesus Christ, what can we do about it?

I come from a long line of Missionaries who sit prominently on my family tree and they spent their entire lives bringing people into their faith to save them. I guess I need to determine if this is the future for America. I need to know if I have to listen to the insults and screaming of Ann Coulter to tell me how the American Government should be respected. I'm old enough to remember Hitler's rants and the horror of what he said. Is this the future of America too?

Mr. President all you have left in your corner are the members of the Religious Right and you should tend to their well being and control the Falwells / Robertsons / Coulters who speak for you. Has the message of Jesus Christ been compromised finally by members of your own Administration? Have you managed to manipulate the agenda of the old Republican Party into an ugly, mean and cruel attacks on our American freedoms?

One of these days Coulter will recognize how you, Mr. President, used and abused the victims of 911 in your State of the Union addresses and your standing on a ship declaring your win in the Middle East. You yourself used those Jersey wives for your own promotion and Coulter is wrong! Her self promotion based on insulting grieving wives is a disgrace to America. That is what you, Sir, have done to the American people in general and the Republican Party in particular

Mr. President, call in your Dogs of War and tell them to go back to church and learn something about Christian compassion.
