By: Sandra Price I want to concentrate on bringing glory, honesty and rationality back to America. Maybe I should say back to American politics…yes, that’s better. America is better than our political debates, at least I hope so. Being a dedicated fiscal Republican, I have been deprived of a political party for nearly 40 years and I can’t keep from hoping the GOP will return to the smaller government that formed the party during Lincoln’s years. Every 4 years the same old arguments and social issues keep popping up and even when I win, I end up losing. Every Republican running for office always brings in the “smaller government” statement that is often forgotten even before their speech has concluded. These are the words of the GOP and haven’t meant a damn thing for too many years. No matter who sits in the White House (or what they do in the Oval Office) I have felt safe knowing that the U.S. Constitution was there to protect me from evil from disreputable leaders. Wow! Was I wrong! I learned years ago that voting for the lesser of two evils always brought evil into power. At no time in the history of this country has this been proven truer! Americans have always compromised their personal agendas for candidates, who came close to what they wanted. Something went very sour in the last 14 years and I could not even locate a single member of either party that was close enough for me to put my vote or support. Trying to use the Constitution as a home base for choosing candidates was impossible. Since 9/11 I have lost all hope for a free America. Nobody seemed to notice that our Intelligence Agencies were inactive in nearly every level of their existence and our house and senate didn’t seem to care enough to notice. Even our own President has little interest in our border problems and the safety of our citizens. He swore an oath of office to protect and preserve the U.S. Constitution and he will be the first to mention it but has allowed too many infractions within the Bill of Rights to be overlooked. After a year or so I realized we had the wrong man for the job. I looked around to find a Constitutionalist and found no one of value who showed any interest in making the much needed corrections. I’m behind Bush 100% in his effort to remove the terrorists from the world but not if it means giving our sovereignty up to the United Nations. That’s all I will say on his Presidency and his use of religious emotions to keep his followers happy and that he forgot to use the Constitution first and foremost. Where do we go? What can we do? We have no choice until 2004 and then we all could face Gephardt or Lieberman or even worse, Al Sharpton. Yesterday the whole thing changed for me! I received my first of many emails presenting Congressmen Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo who want to run in 2004! A pair of dedicated followers of the U.S. Constitution as well as dedicated Americans concerned with the freedoms of all American citizens. Whether they run as Republicans or Independents makes no difference to me. No, they are not perfect but they are Constitutionalists and that is all I want! I am grateful to Etherzone for jumping in and standing up for a better and more legal America. There might just be a chance to put the love of America back into our flag again, our total faith in the power of the U.S. Constitution and bring a laugh track back into my life! For years I have felt totally depressed about America’s place in the world and after 9/11 I realized how low we had slipped in the eyes of other nations. But when Americans turned on Americans again it became too much for me. The main frame of our country was eroding and our elected officials turned away from the laws of the land and down we were falling. No hope even to win a war let alone the number of countries who were lining up against us. We had no one to come up with a long term plan for freedom because they had overlooked the laws of the Constitution. I see no hope for America the way we are heading. We have allowed personal agendas to run our government and few house/senate members are paying attention on anything other than slamming Bush. American sovereignty will be the great sacrifice to the God of political success and the American citizens will lose everything. Whether Paul/Tancredo wins or loses is almost irrelevant because we may have fallen too far into the greed of our D.C. politicians (left and right) but damnit! The fight is worth it! I am filled with a new-found energy that I haven’t felt for 14 years! I can laugh out loud and find funny things around me again. The weight of the 14 years of the fear of a One World Order could be close to being toppled. We must make it so! Please join me and Etherzone and read about our new-found presidential candidates and if you like what you read, sign the Petition to get it started.
