By: Sandra Price I believe that the GOP has successfully leveled the playing field by acting just as unethical as the Democrats. Many of us Republicans will have to make up some new talking points to even try to get our candidates elected into the government. After 5 years of the current Administration, I find that many of us have no candidates who could stand up for honest points of view anywhere. During the investigation by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, Karl Rove and Richard Cheney will be spared any involvement in the media leak of a covert CIA agent. Lewis Libby will take the fall for the Bush Administration in this very serious breach of security. I was hoping for a clean sweep of removing the basic cabinet members appointed by Bush. Power has overcome the truth over and over and even if Rove and Cheney are completely innocent of the charges, they will always seem guilty due to their inability to recognize the truth. It is a sad day for the Republican Party that no law is above the power of the President. As a
Mother, Grandmother and a long term Republican I resent what these Bush
appointees have done to the Party. Just
because “everyone is doing it” does not make for ethical decisions.
The GOP is running 20 years
from today the Republicans will still be trying to get over the
disreputable Bush Administration. It
is a tragedy that no political party is currently available for the
people to support. We are
destined to try to locate the lesser of two evils to run This lack of ethics starts at the very top of the Republican Party and as we have seen has tricked down to many members of the party in the House of Representatives and even the Senate. How many Republican Governors have been sent running out of office for the misuse of public funds? Most of the members of the Republican Party are never exposed thanks to the Republican National Committee. This is simply wrong and only adds to the lack of respect many of us how share about the GOP. It is not the media who is killing the Republicans, even though the leaders of the GOP love to point their fingers at the Liberal Media, it is the Republican-elected officials who have destroyed a once respected political party. The arrogance of finally having a Republican House, Senate and President has shown the American people that there is nothing honorable among the GOP at this time. The power behind the throne has shown all of us that politics is most certainly running the appointments of the Supreme Court appointees. Roe vs Wade is running the country and will rule the passing of any man or women trying to replace Justice Sandra Day O’Conner. Poor old Harriet Miers wrote about “self determination” by women on the subject of abortion. That was her undoing because the very thought that any woman could make the choice of carrying a fetus to term is OUT OF THE QUESTION! Conservatives will never give women that much leeway in the American family. As part of my daily routine, I read into 3 or 4 conservative discussion forums just to see how they can justify the daily assault on our freedoms and choices being a part of President Bush’s agenda and it is rather amusing how much damage is done to these agenda items by the Liberals. Anyone who even questions the motives behind Bush’s statements is considered a “Liebrul.” There is an automatic knee-jerk reaction to even questioning Bush’s intentions which are obvious to most of us who stepped back 5 years ago to take a closer look, that his intentions which shows he wants to keep us in an illegal war and control the actions of women and gays. He has not even been subtle in these actions! This attitude has trickled down to even the news readers on the cable networks. Even the stations themselves are now labeled Bush friendly, or enemies of the country. If it weren’t so dangerous, it would be amusing. It makes many of us wonder how our own FBI files are labeled these days according to the Conservative White House. My main problem with this is whether we are even getting the truth out of the media? We are going to face an election in November 2006 that could determine whether we lean towards the lies of the Democrats or the lies of the Republicans. Too many dirty tricks by both parties have driven millions of us into searching for a third party. I had
great respect for Harry Browne and his determination to bring the
Federal Government back to the size determined by our founding fathers. But
in I look at the other third parties and see a movement for Jesus Christ or a police state building to destroy American Corporations and that is not what I want at all! Is it too late to ask the Republican Party to return to their once popular agenda of limited government, individual freedoms and personal responsibilities or are they too involved with the Religious Right to bother with freedoms and choices? Is it too late to expect the GOP to mean what they say, or will we be seen bowing to the One World Order promoted by the neocons who have infiltrated into our government in a far more dangerous way than the Communists tried in the past? Will we
all have to face a new There is no longer even a smidgeon of law and order in our Federal Government these days and obviously no hope of ever returning to the individual freedoms that we were promised at the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the beginning of our government. Are we
going to continue to vote for men and women who want a One World Empire
in 2008 or is there anyone interested in American sovereignty left in |
