Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009

My main regret is that my parents are not alive to see this day in American History.

They both were “Dyed in the Wool” Republicans who were raised and lived in the mode of Aryans.  My Father was a Catholic and my Mother a Mormon.  The marriage did not last very long but their bigotry lived until they both died.  I grew up in a family who despised Jews and Blacks.  My grandmother was more forgiving but still felt that White Christians were the best Americans.

The John Birch Society became the organization of my Mother’s family and I remember driving them to the meetings that I found so devastatingly un-American that I had to live alone and escape the attitude that seemed to drive them all into an insane attitude.

I saw an anger among these relatives that was on the edge of violence.  I remember the night that Bobby Kennedy was shot and I called my Mother to see where she was.  She was at home and I took a deep breath of relief.

In my opinion this anger found in my Mother’s family seemed to stem from the Crusades in the Middle East and the Inquisitions of Europe.  This frightening desire to punish others who sinned was a terrifying way to live.  None of them were pure enough to involve themselves in anything of this nature.  Generations of terrorism furnished by the Churches was centered in their attitude that they could do great sins and then run to church and beg for forgiveness.  What they overlooked was that I would never forgive their hypocrisy!  They are all dead and I am the oldest living member of my generation and will enjoy this day my own way.

I did not vote for President Obama, as I held out for Ron Paul to show my support for a Fiscal Conservative agenda.  I also had little knowledge of the impact that the Obama family would have on the American people.  I learned in 1992 that the Republican Party did not play by the rules and headed for a Platform to form an Empire starting with the Middle East.  In 2001 I saw the result of this movement that would destroy our World reputation and the corruption in the White House unimaginable.

This morning we will see the last of the Bush family and their decadent form of government.  Their last gift to America was to federalize the banks.  I think it is fitting that a Conservative President would socialize our money system.  I would love to see the end of the Conservative movement in our elections and return to a two party system that had many winning elections until this last one.

Hats off to the American voters who did see the corruption in the GOP and was able to wash it away.
