Election Obituary?

I think not!!!

By:  Sandra Price

I think if I see another red/blue map I will explode.  This map thingy is merely a way to give the media a head start as to how the elections will end up.  We now have a cultural civil war that could develop into a major blood bath unless someone in the White House stops trying to socially engineer the people of America .

What this country should be doing is teaching academics in our damn schools!  Our kids have no concept of family, let alone family values, so get off this stuff about issuing labels on them, giving an IQ or some such number next to their names  and teach them to f***ing READ!  I wrote in 2000 that if President Bush would encourage some real Education reforms in our schools, by the time he was running for reelection millions of kids would be able to read about him.  He didn’t do it and I guess he figured he wasn’t good enough to expect to sell his weak programs.  Since his election, millions of new American kids can’t read and will never be able to keep up in High School or college.  What a waste of 4 years!!!

When the kids learn to read give them something of value to read either in school or at home.  Only 6% of the American people read books!!  This is disgraceful and the percentage of kids in school who read books is even lower.  I discovered this in 1963 when I went to register my daughter into our new neighborhood of Woodland Hills California .  This would be her first year in a public school and yet she could read at the age of 5 and had many books in her own library.

I met with the principal and was told there would be no reading list until 4th or 5th grade.  I asked for that reading list and she did not have a copy of it.  I walked out of her office and immediately went on the search for a private school instead.

Why would even California want to secede from the Union when only the larger urban areas are painted blue?  We have agricultural areas of the state that are  not particularly sophisticated  in their education policies who are more than willing to let the President decide who they are and what they want.

Leave them all alone!  I tell you that when the Federal Government starts laying down their mandates over the individual choices of the people, then and only then will the people of these areas stand up and will (or should) tell the feds to take a flying leap.

The Federal government has little clout over the people of America .  The government has lost our respect and that respect lessens every time a neocon or member of the religious right starts their pontificating about what it is we should want.

Banning gay marriage, abortion and stem cell research will be ignored by the masses.  The Bush Administration has set this up and will see it to be about as affective as alcohol prohibition and the war on drugs.  What Bush wants is a Police state to be built from coast to coast to force these prohibitions on us.  He will be able to use the Patriot’s act for his authority and there won’t be a woman, gay or scientist who will be safe in America .  His police state will focus on the blue areas in our maps and we had better damn well know it.

This whole awful mess comes down to how people look at the Federal Government.  The religious right looks at it to be the final authority for the morals of their people.  Secularists look at the government as an intrusion into their civil rights to live as individuals.  We all know we have to live by the laws within our states.  The Feds should butt out!!!

We have millions of people who believe the Federal Government is there to give them what they can not earn for themselves, and the rest of us feel that if the states offer equal and strong academics in their schools everyone in America has an equal opportunity to make their lives as they want.  This is the way it was 60 years ago when everyone was free to make a good life or live on the streets.

I remember this same argument in 1964 when the Conservative movement under Goldwater was finished and ready for the voters.  We forgot the generations of voters who never had an individual thought in their lives having lived under religious rules for generations.  How could we explain Fiscal Conservative values to any of them?  Well, we couldn’t!  The Liberals took the election due to the promises of freebies and entitlements to be handed out to all the American citizens.  Johnson won because he promised that the voters would never have to worry about anything again and prosperity would be theirs forever.

We have immigrants from all over the world coming into the country (legally and illegally) with their hands out for the American dream.  Bush spotted this when he was Governor of Texas and fed into it even as President of the United States by allowing the greatest illegal immigration ever seen anywhere on the globe.  Free health care, free education for their kids and now free social security benefits.

The free health care will be so watered down that they will still have to use the emergency wards when they get sick or hurt.  Their free education for their kids will bring them down to the same level as our own American kids and nobody will be able to read.  Social Security will die in debt but by that time Bush will be out of office.

There is no leadership in the Republican or Democratic Party.  We have the religious right lined up with the neocons who together will try to conquer the whole world and make it Christian under a Dictator.  Whoopee!

It is time to get together and organize some much-needed changes in 2008.  The people in D.C. are now searching for that one man or woman who can be manipulated into keeping social laws in the Federal Government and the world at war to strengthen our power over the Middle East .  Our American Dollar is dangerously low in value but it is more fun to fight over abortions and homophobia.

I will not fight for a civil war but I will work constantly for a change in the policies of the Federal Government.  I am still a Fiscal Conservative and want the government to back off the people of America with their social engineering plans.  The Red states may have the look of the majority of the voters but not the majority of the American people.  It’s time for education to show a powerful part of our next election.

2006 is coming and if our Congress continues to build a Police State under Bush, let’s dump them.  That will be the litmus test of the power of our government.  If our house and senate bends over to kiss Bush’s arse, we know we are doomed and it’s time to move on out of the Country.
