Commentary for October 22, 2004

By:  Sandra Price

We need to get together and build some plans pretty damn quick!

As of October 22nd we Americans are literally backed into corner between two horrible plans for our future.  I am talking about the November 2nd elections.  I’ve been backed into this corner for many elections and it doesn’t make it any easier to survive another 4 years of bad government run by liars and manipulators.

Whether we want more war, more government or more lying scoundrels leading our government can’t be decided in the short period between elections.  What we need is a concrete plan to improve the mess we are in.  Taking the mess one at a time, how the hell do we get out of a holy war; or do we even want to?

From what I’m hearing from the GOP, they love this war and can plan to stay in it until all the Islamic zealots are dead!  However what this has done to the reputation of America on the planet has been horrific and America is now one of the most despised nations on earth.  Let’s try something else, okay?

I’m not certain what the Democrats are advocating and their truth level on the scale is about equal with the Republicans.  They just want to win the seat away from Bush and nothing else matters.  When Bush’s numbers go up the Democrats will work for more involvement in Iraq ……

What about the American people?  Do we have anything to say about this at all?  Not with the current choices.  Many of us in the southwest are having a terrible time with the illegal aliens and both candidates want to make them Citizens.  Of course they want the votes but what about the votes of the people who have lived legally in these states for generations?  What about the tax payers in these states who have financed the schools, hospitals, law enforcement personal and state/county/city buildings?  Our schools are failing due to language problems, our hospitals are overrun with diseases that we cured years ago.  One can’t get on a freeway without broken down trucks from Mexico filled with more undocumented aliens running all over the place.  We are living in a war zone down here and I don’t like it!

So how can we bring common sense back to America and allow our new immigrants to enter legally where we can welcome them instead of the resentment we now feel?

Those are my two big problems and I want to see either a revision of the GOP or a new party formed that will incorporate all the things that worked for America since Lincoln ’s day.  I don’t want a party that represents only White Christian Straight Men.   This is Bush’s party and not mine.  There is no doubt in anyone’s mine that Bush is a Neocon inherited from his father’s One World Order.  American Sovereignty will be a thing of the past with the Neocons running our America .

If you are not familiar with the term Neocon, here is a link that will spell it out for you.

Here’s another written by my friend Lew Rockwell .

Both of these articles explain clearly that our U.S. Constitution will be changed to some grand plan putting America at the top of the list of controlling nations.  This also gives America the financial responsibility for the whole world which would almost be acceptable if we weren’t in such a mess with our debts and no hope of ever balancing our budget under the Republican or Democratic Party.  What can we do?

In 1994 something rather miraculous happened in the Congress when after 2 years of a Democrat in the White House, our congress actually grew some balls and began to work on a new order of business called “The Contract with America .”   It worked and our debts began to diminish and by 2000 we were out of debt and in the black for the first time in decades.  Maybe the balance of having a Democrat in the White House and a Republican Congress somehow worked.

I did not like Clinton as a President but could the 3 parts of our government finally been proven as being good?  At least the Legislative vs the Executive brought about something positive.  I was not fond of the decisions made by the Attorney General Reno but even she seems mild in comparison to John Ashcroft these days.

Think about it this way:  What if we elect Senator Kerry into office and keep our Republican Congress seated?  We who have read the Constitution know that the Congress can veto any healthcare or expensive program not acceptable and certainly has the power to control all spending and budget that could take us even further into debt than we are at this time.  Why not?  Elect Kerry and hold his feet to the fire as we did Clinton in 1994.  Do we have a strong leader in the House and Senate who would be able to do this.  Remember we had Newt Gingrich in place in 1994 but I doubt Dennis Hastert has the spine to stand up to anyone.

So while we are controlling the Democrats in the Kerry years, will we be able to reconstruct the Republican Party into some kind of a party resembling the original party of limited government, individual liberties and personal responsibilities?  We need some new blood in the RNC and we need it now!

We need to ask Pat Robertson and his whole Coalition to step back into their churches and leave the Constitution alone.  We have enough division in America without adding religion, race and sexual preferences into the Republican Party to tear it apart.

We need to restore the 10th Amendment and give the states back their independence and leave the government to build our defenses up in such a way that we do not trespass on any nation’s land.  2005 should be a time of restoring American values in America .  To hell with the Middle East !  It is time for America to show respect for the people of America and protect them with everything possible.

The Neocons have spread our troops too thin all over the world and have done it with little respect for the people of the lands in every continent.  The Neocons have been flexing muscles they don’t have over people who despise us.  Let’s pull out of these countries and build back our American values so they mean something more than money given out.

It is always easy to say let’s start a new party to control the Democrats and Neocons but the American spirit isn’t strong enough these days to pull that off.  We tried with Perot and the LP, Green Party, Constitution Party and it always comes back to the Democrats vs the Republicans except that today they have blended into one huge mess of less than attractive politicians, none of whom can be trusted.

How can we reconstruct the Republican Party so that it represents ethics, a respect for individual rights,  morality, honesty, and rid the party of the corporation bunglers, thieves, liars, users and looters that have entered the party starting in 1989?  Where can we find leaders who actually mean what they say and can sell American freedoms once more instead of this constant assault on our personal lives that all this crap about putting chips under our skin and mentally testing our children for a possible need for tranquilizers?  How about the waste of billions of dollars with a yearly census that to my knowledge is still on the table somewhere in the Congress.  Enough is enough!

Pack up the entire Bush Administration and kick them out of office once and for all!  They no more represent the GOP than my black cat sleeping on my feet does.  Is there a spark of a fight in the GOP these days to correct the mess that the Bush Administration has caused in America ?  Our only hope is within the Congress and I fully intend to send letters to my house and senate reps to let them know a new Republican Party is in the works and they can either join us or wimp away under Bush!
