Blasphemy in America

America began as an extension of British philosophy which meant that the government had the right to issue religious doctrines under British monarchy rule.  At the time that American began to be an independent nation, the Reformation of Protestantism was entering into the government.    This meant that Deists were in the majority of the founding fathers of America. 

In England the many people who were Deists and even Atheists were labeled in a movement of Blasphemy and the government issued them to be enemies of the Crown.  Those who spoke up were placed in prison and were soon killed.  England still claimed to be the government of Christians and needed to destroy any movement to keep this going.

The Philosopher David Hume born in Scotland author of “Treatise of Human Nature” was the first to expose the nature of Christian Doctrines, by criticizing the standard proofs of God.  This was after he traveled through Europe and spent some time in France meeting people like Voltaire. This expanded his approach to religion in general and Christianity in particular.  It took many years before he was accepted as a philosopher but he returned to Edinburgh and died in 1776.

Had he only traveled to the New World to share his philosophy with the founders of our Constitution, we might have been a little more careful in our wording of the Preamble and the U.S. Constitution.

Many early Americans became aware of the letters between James Madison and Thomas Jefferson when they spoke of a necessary separation of church and state.  A look at Europe told these wise men to keep religion out of politics and politics out of religion.

We should have been more aware of the end games of the Christian Coalition who wanted the power of the Christian Church involved in all aspects of the American Federal laws.  In my opinion this is when the American people became less moral and less ethical and it was a silent denial of this influence from the Christian leaders.  Nobody wants to be constantly reminded of their sins especially from sinners themselves. 

The Religious Right started their movement into the government after WW2 when Communism was the enemy of American Freedoms.  They saw the missing hole and jumped in with both feet on the tail of the John Birch Society.  It was the growth of anti-Semitism, anti-Atheism, anti-just about everything that did not fit into the Evangelical movement growing like weeds in the environment of freedom in America.  The American people were told that the opposite of Communism was Christian doctrines.  Everything else was “blasphemy.”  It shook many Christians when in 1948, Israel was given their land back to be their very own nation.  Many Evangelicals are still shaking about this development and are speaking out against Israel.

Not being a Christian in 1948 and having made many strong friends in the Jewish communities, I was delighted that all the fears of this proud religion had a home.  I secretly hoped they would take better care of it than we Americans did of our nation.

I graduated from High School in 1950 and signed up to work for the Republican Party knowing my Patriotism was based on my firm belief in the U.S. Constitution.  My Patriotism did not come from any Christian doctrine as I had given up my family religion at a very early age. 

My association with the GOP came to a roaring halt when I realized that President George Herbert Walker t Bush (41) had stated that only Christians should be American Citizens and suddenly the horrors of the years of England’s outlawing blasphemy roared back in my ears.  Few picked this up but when Ross Perot came up with a clean platform for American Government I signed on with glee.  The Religious Right had hit their stride in American politics and they took Perot apart including threats to his family. 

Eight years of Clinton positively set the Christians on fire and they were determined to change our form of government right down to changing the U.S. Constitution to issue Amendments to forbid what they called sins.  They found their puppet for a Christian nation and George Walker Bush was elected President in 2000. 

Anyone who has tried to associate with the discussion forums knows exactly what happened on the internet.  It became the bed for change of the Evangelicals and literally all hell broke loose that anyone would dare to question the new Commander in Chief of the American Government.  President Bush 43 became the Religious Leader of America and became concerned with banning abortions, same sex marriages, stem cell research and end of life choices.  He had no concern with Islam and probably knew nothing about the attacks from OBL on the USS Cole and the Embassies bombed in Africa and of course the first bombing of the Trade Center.  He had a job to do and he ignored everything else. 

Bush may have danced a jig when he was told that OBL was a Muslim.  The first words out of Bush’s mouth the day after 9/11 was about a Crusade to wipe out the people who attacked us.  Bush was born to lead another Crusade against Islam.  He considers himself a winner in Iraq and will go into Iran unless this madman is stopped.  The reaction to this criticism of Bush’s actions is coming from millions of non-Christians and other Americans who do not want a religious crusade which leads me to be alert to the next act from the Religious Right in banning any American who is opposed to what Bush has done and will do. 

His use of the Patriot’s Act has already threatened many of us who dare to find his actions terrible and deadly to our individual freedoms.  I have been told on a dozen forums that we have no natural freedoms from the Constitution and we must live by biblical laws or go to hell. 

If Americans elect another Evangelical Christian into the White House, this nation will be for Christians Only as Bush 41 wanted.  Most of the Conservative Republicans are running on the prohibitions found in the Christian Coalition original platform and if the American people don’t wake up, America will be destroyed by Islam as they outnumber us and are even crazier for world power than our madman President at this time.  I’m no Democrat but there is no other choice if we want to maintain our freedoms. 

We Americans are in a fight like no other we ever had to battle for.  We are seeing Robertson, Weyrich and Dobson fighting over the Republican candidates and if they realize a Democrat will be out in front before the November 2008 election they will drop their GOP candidates and head over to Hillary.  These Evangelicals have no ethics or morals and would follow Satan himself if it led to the White House.
